Welcome to Hartley Parish Council website

Hartley Parish Council serving the village of Hartley in Kent.

The Village of Hartley in Kent lies on the northern side of the North Downs between Sevenoaks, Dartford and Gravesend. The northern boundary of the village is the main railway line to London and the southern boundary is some 2 miles south to the roundabout at New Ash Green. At its widest it is some 1.5 miles wide (see map). The envelope of the village is offered protection by the Metropolitan Green Belt that surrounds it.

Hartley is home to some 5,500 people and is a mixed community which has retained its rural roots. The village has two beautiful historic churches one of which originates from the Norman times. The other is one of only a handful of thatched churches in Kent. We also have local shops, a pub, social club and country club as well as many societies and other associations for the young and not so young alike and of course some beautiful countryside.

We hope you will enjoy using the website to:-

  • Read Agendas and Minutes of Parish Council Meetings as well as those of the various committees and working groups and keep up to date on what is happening in the village. (Please note, we are unable to upload all supporting documents to the website but these are available on request in the Parish Office or by email.)

  • You can use the links to find Useful Information about the village and the surrounding area.

Please contact us if you have questions concerning the work of the Parish Council, if you have any concerns that you feel the Council should be aware of or where it can help or support you.
